Message from the Industrial Liaisons Officer (I.L.O.)

The Industrial and Liaisons Office Department handles student industrial placements which involves providing advice on all matters pertaining student attachment and linkages to organizations. The institute establishes and maintains mutually beneficial partnerships with industry stakeholders and prospective employers and has so far maintained a 100% placement and assessment level for all trainees in industrial and field attachment. During attachment, trainees are exposed to real work environments, making them more creative and innovative. This also improves their integrity and diligence after attachment which contributes to producing socially responsible and competent graduates in different fields. One of the best achievements of the department is facilitating students getting employment at their places of attachment after they have completed their studies. Attachments have helped in producing trainees who are professional in different areas like engineering, social work, catering, and computing and informatics. All trainees are given equal access to attachment opportunities and the institute’s image to prospective placement organizations has been greatly enhanced due to the discipline and dedication of our students.

The department encourages students to interact with it freely and with respect, honesty and cooperation. All stakeholders including parents, mentors, trainers, trainees and the society at large should join hands to ensure that all students who pass through SIT come out changed and ready to play a part in building our great nation.

At Siaya Institute of Technology, the principal inspiration is a commitment to offering quality service delivery to the public. As a TVET Institution, SIT is expected to intensify creativity, integrity, professionalism, social responsibility, team work and equity. God’s willing SIT will play a major role in actualizing Kenya’s vision 2030 by producing key human resource assets in an array of areas such as Engineering, Agriculture, Computing and Informatics.
