Message from the Administration Desk

Siaya Institute of Technology (SIT) is a TVET institution in Kenya located 15 Kilometers on the
North of the equator along the Siaya- Rang’ala Road in a quiet and ideal environment for
learning & studies.

As a TVET institution, its commitment to provision of quality service to stakeholders is
continuous and in line with its mission of Producing a specialized human resource with creative,
innovative and adaptive skills to face the challenges of globalization. The current student
population stands at 2055 with plans to expand this to 5000 by 2022 with at least 700 graduands
annually. The institution has diversified its training programs to enable it clients acquire relevant
skills required to meet the demands of the modern growing economy and for the realization of
the national goal of being a middle-income economy by the year 2030. The ultimate goal of SIT
is to admit and train students to meet global industrial standards.

The role of the department is to help students process the National Government- Constituency
Development Fund (CDF) Bursary Forms, Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement
Service (KUCCPS) placement, County Government Bursary Forms and other NGO/CBO
sponsorship programs.
The department also promotes collaborations between the institution and students, employers,
sponsors, parents and local community in order to cultivate goodwill.

It markets SIT to potential students as a TVET institution of choice and encourages them to take
advantage of the Government Capitation of Sh30,000 and HELB loan of Sh40,000 annually to
facilitate their career journey through training.
