    Message from the Registrar Administration

As the Registrar – Administration, I work closely with the Deputy Principal Administration and the entire top management team. A key role of my office is to assist students to log into the students’ portal of Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) to enable them get placement and capitation provided by the government capped at Ksh30,000.

The office assists students to access bursaries and loans from Higher Education Loans Board (HELB). To this regard, we have designated an office where the students can visit and get practical assistance on the registration, log in to the platform and upload of personal details which is used to guide the disbursement of funds by organization.

We also conduct marketing activities and marketing environmental analysis in order to gather data that can be used to drive the improvement of the visibility of the institution and encourage increased enrolment. Some of the activities we do include recruitment drives, visiting and co-organization of annual school days held in high schools and engaging the potential students and the general public during barazas.

The Public Relations function of the office involves publicity in partnership with our stakeholders. We have visited several institutions within the county and its environs as we market our institutions’ programmes. We are however planning to review and evaluate our programs with a view to enhance those that have been successful and improve on areas that have shortfalls while also identifying new opportunities.

My vision for the office and institution during my tenure is to enhance open door policy towards all the Siaya Institute of Technology (SIT) stakeholders so that they can take initiative and assist us in running programs.

SIT is unique in its location and academic performance, we offer market-driven courses and our students have been recording exemplary performance consistently in national exams. These students who graduate from the institution act as our ambassadors and help us to market the institution, a gesture that has led to increased enrolment in the institution. Our partnerships with stakeholders enable sharing of ideas and participatory approach in the management of projects.

We plan to enhance our partnerships and linkages as well as collaborations with corporate bodies and other stakeholders in order to assist us in our mandate.

I therefore urge all prospective students, parents and other stakeholders to partner with SIT, being an institution of choice, our doors are wide open to potential students and we exist to give them a future so that they are empowered.
