How can a student access textbooks and reading materials?

The institution has a well-stocked library that provides books through reserve section for reading within the library, short loan and online access to books and journals.

How does the institute organize meals?

Students purchase meals using a PAYE system, Students load their (PEPEA) meal cards with cash in advance and purchase a variety of affordable meals.

Does the Siaya Institute of Technology provide accommodation?

SIT accommodates some female and male students on a first come-first served basis Accommodation is available but limited therefore; we conduct room allocation on a first come first-served basis. A larger population of the students find accommodation outside the campus.

How do I apply for HELB Loan?

Students are assisted to apply for HELB upon admission to SIT.

How long does it take to complete a course?

What is the deadline for the registration of examinations?

Examination registration is done One term prior to the exam term. Registration for City and Guilds/K.N.E.C July series exams start in February and end in mid-March, while those of November series begin in May and end in June.

What is the examinations fees required to register for examinations?

Exam fees range at between KES. 8,000 to 10,000 for KNEC exams but variations may exist depending on the courses. A comprehensive breakdown can be obtained in the College fee-structure guideline.

What is the qualification required to register for examinations?

Generally, for Diploma courses C-, while a D for certificate courses. However, particular subject cluster requirements may apply for individual courses.

Do you have any job opportunities?

The Siaya Institute of Technology offers quality training to the Kenyan Public but is not mandated to offer, seek for or arbitrate on employment matters.

Do you offer bridging courses?

Bridging courses are offered for Mathematics, Physics Biology and Chemistry and English for duration of three months, starting every term.

How do I apply for a Tender and what are the requirements?

Upon advertisement, the tender documents can be downloaded from the Institution’s website or obtained from the Procurement Department at a fee by individuals or registered companies.

When do you advertise for Tenders?

Our tenders are advertised in the month of April every year.

How do I become a supplier for The Siaya Institute of Technology?

To become a supplier you have to apply for the pre-qualification of suppliers which is conducted after every two years.
