The office of examinations in Siaya Institute of Technology (SIT) is appropriately located in the Office of the Registrar and headed by a Deputy Registrar. Deputy Registrar in charge of examinations is better known as the Examinations Officer.

  1. Internal examinations are formative assessments set, moderated, approved, administered and marked within the community of Siaya institute of technology. Continuous Assessment Tests (CATs) and End of Term Examinations are quick examples.
  2. External examinations are the summative assessments for which Siaya Institute of Technology offers a centre for administration.

Siaya Institute of Technology boasts of a broad curriculum examined by reputable examination bodies in Kenya. Currently the following examination bodies are active in SIT;

  3. National Industrial Training Authority (NITA)
  4. Curriculum Development, Assessment and Certification Council (CDACC)

Through these bodies, SIT is registering in excess of 1,500 candidates annually. The aim is to increase this to 2,500 by the end of the 2021/2022 academic year.
